May Goals {2016}

May-Goals-Cushion-Book-Candle-Nail-Polish
Wouldn't it be ironic if one of my goals for this month was to get back into my blogging routine. But when one is struck by a two-day migraine, staring at a screen after doing that at work was the last thing on one's mind. I'm back to full-health now though and am thoroughly enjoying this scorcher of a weekend. So whilst I'm out bathing in the sun in an attempt to not be milk-bottle-Mary on holiday I shall leave you with my May plans.

  1. Wear in my new converse
  2. Purchase myself a new scent at duty free
  3. Keep my sunflower alive at work (once it grows)
  4. Put my new nail varnishes to good use
  5. Continue with GOT so I can be down with one of the cool kids

Right now I'm probably munching on a burger, or two, and revelling in the fact that I've taken tomorrow off work for Jay's birthday so it's a three day weekend for me.

April Goals {2016}

April Goals: diary quote, cactus, mini eggs and daisy perfume
The end of March means the beginning of April and the beginning of April means it's the month where I have eight birthdays to prepare for and I'm totally prepared, ish, not. I also now have a mountain of chocolate to get through which is totally contradicting my day time salads and evening work-outs, but the lighter evenings mean I have no excuse for starting up jogging again. So whilst I wallow in my disappearing bank balance and munch through half a chocolate egg, I will leave you with my ambitions for April.

1. Finish all chocolate-related goodies and replace with healthy things.
2. Replace my hearbreakily-broken converse.
3. Attempt to not make an utter fool out of myself at my first work social.
4. Visit a farm and see some lambs.
5. Spring clean the flat- not entirely sure what that means yet.
6. Get Barcelona planning.
7. Update my wardrobe with some Spring essentials.

March goals {2016}

Looking back I did pretty well in hitting my Feb ambitions, we've booked Barcelona, had a non-stop fam weekend, kept my flat plants alive, lit my candle to GBBO and settled in nicely at work but March is here which means one thing, Spring is on its way. I absolutely adore Spring, pretty flowers, fluffy lambs, creme eggs, what isn't there to like? It also takes us one step closer to Summer which is even better as I need some vitamin D in my life. I feel like after a very hectic February, March is going to be a very much lets-get-my-life-back-together kinda month with a few other goals thrown in the mix

1. Purchase birthday & Easter presents
2. Stick to my new work-out DVD
3. Devour my body weight in creme eggs and mini eggs
4. Enjoy some quality family time
5. Try some new recipes
6. Order some desk accessories

I'm definitely looking forward to having some normality and routine back in my life whilst munching on all the Easter chocolate and feeling very guilty as I still have Christmas chocolate in my cupboard.

February Goals {2016}

February brings us the wonders of Chinese New Year, Valentines Day and the most important, Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Pancake Day, whatever name you like to give it- my cupboards are fully stocked up with Nutella and I'm not sitting here right now with a spoon and a jar. I think my main goal for me this month is probably not to make a fool out of myself at work, first impressions and all that jazz. However, there are a few other things I've got my mind on.

1. Start planning for a sunny getaway
2. Plan an uber fun weekend for Jason's brothers and partners
3. Always have freshly painted nails
4. Settle in in my new working environment
5. Light my Victoria Sponge candle (Now I have the salary to be able to replace it)
6. Keep my new green friends alive

So here's to hoping that I don't fall on my arse over the next few days and then I will have survived week one, so good so far.

December goals

On the third day of December Christmas sent to me, a promise of the Christmas tree. It will be travelling up tomorrow with Jason's parents and as soon as they arrive it's going up! Unfortunately we're having to stick to the skinny, artificial tree my Mum dug out of the loft but as we're heading off home for Christmas next weekend it seemed like a waste of money to buy a real one to then neglect. So we're saving a Christmas tree's life and making do for this year. It doesn't mean my tree will be any less pretty though! Anywho, we're already three days into December which means we should probably get going on my goals for this month, which I warn you will be very festive. But, first things first, lets reflect (again)

1. Write my Christmas list
2. Read 2 (or more books)
3. Keep upright when walking across the stage at Graduation
4. Make the flat as Christmassy as Santa's Grotto
5. Start Christmas shopping
6. Have plans for Bonfire night

7. Cook lots of casseroles and stews

I did it, almost. Once again I haven't stuck to my book goal, which is very unlike me, but I'm really struggling to get into the book I'm currently reading as once I start I won't give up. However, I did manage to not fall over at Graduation, Christmas has already begun in our abode and my Christmas shopping has been started. So, I didn't do too badly last month. Now the pressure is on for December, although I don't think I'll have any trouble with these ones:

1. Bake some mince pies
2. Go to a carol concert
3. Finish my Christmas shopping
4. Drink lots of mulled wine
5. Have a Bratwurst hotdog from the Christmas market
6. Stuff myself full of good food
7. Spend lots of time with family and friends
8. Host an unforgettable NYE party
9. Finish my book!

I don't think any of those goals are unrealistic really, and will probably be achieved without realising it, but it's good to have it in writing! Right now I'm off to head into town and continue with my Christmas shopping, check back soon for some more festive fun!

November Goals

A new month is upon us which means a whole new set of goals, or old ones that I haven't yet completed. I loved October, yes there was many parts that I would have liked to skip, but I learnt so much from it and had some very enjoyable moments- you can catch them here if you haven't already. But back to business, last month I set myself 8 goals and can safely say I stuck to nearly all of them!

1. Read 2 (or more books)
2. Bake some goodies
3. Tidy the flat (unpack the remaining boxes)

4. Paint the upstairs rooms
5. Find some more favourite blogs
6. Start yoga

7. Do something fun for Halloween
8. Try a new restaurant

My books weren't delivered till last week and my super busy week has meant I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to spend curled up on the sofa. This also means we have put off painting till the new year when we're ready to get out our rollers and brushes again. Unfortunately, we haven't yet ventured out to try a new restaurant in York as we've been having too much fun cooking new recipes, you can check out my autumn mushrooms and herby pasta post here, but that may change in the near future. Now, below are my goals for November- hopefully I'll stick to all of these one!

1. Write my Christmas list
2. Read 2 (or more books)
3. Keep upright when walking across the stage at Graduation
4. Make the flat as Christmassy as Santa's Grotto
5. Start Christmas shopping
6. Have plans for Bonfire night

7. Cook lots of casseroles and stews

As you can see, most of my goals are Christmas related, but Halloween is over which means Christmas can officially begin, right? Plus Starbucks now have their #redcups in, so technically the rest of us can get in the festive spirit too.
